A friend told me that after dating all over Europe and the US, he found that he prefers European dating styles, as Americans seem to play more “games”. He said the Europeans acted on how they truly felt about each other rather than follow preset dating “rules”.
I would appreciate any intelligent insights on my friend’s statements.

I recently transferred into a new university. I am now 21 and have approximately sophomore standing (the credit transfers didn’t go well) so I will soon be older than most students.
At the same time I would like to start dating, which I haven’t done yet. I *could* date outside of my university but I would rather stick to dating other students. I’ve ruled out freshmen already (it just doesn’t feel right). What other limits should I follow?
By the way, I know age-of-consent laws are usually 16 or 18. The law is not the issue here.
