Does Hand-holding Usually Occur Before Or After Two People Are Officially Dating?

Do people usually hold hands before they decide to go out with each other or affirm that they’re dating and then hold hands for the first time?

doesn’t matter. sometimes it leads up to dating, sometimes it’s a confirmation of the relationship. it could be either way.

Well it looks like everyone else is saying before, but in my school it’s after! If people were ‘just friends’ they don’t usually hold hands, until they get asked out, then it’s kinda like saying that yes, it’s true, they do love eachother, and holding hands is a way of proving it.
Really it’s just how comfortable you feel. If you feel really comfortable around the guy, and you think he does too, then go ahead, hold his hand. But don’t just hold his hand because you think it’s the right thing to do.
But it also depend on the people. If a guy and a girl really like eachother, and they both knew it, I guess it’s normal if the girl reaches out and holds his hand if they were at a movie or something.

If a guy and girl hold hands before they are dating, and they know they like eachother, it’s perfectly fine.
The problem is everyone else will assume you two are dating. But that’’s not really an issue.
    It’s no big deal.

Some people hold hands on first dates, so I guess it doesn’t matter when, just as long as they’re comfortable holding each other’s hands.

I don’t think it really matters when. But it really seems like the first “step” in a relationship. It kinda just shows you’re “together” i guess.
