Best New Zealand Holiday For Singles?
I am a 28 y.o single male, given an opportunity to visit New Zealand in January 2010 as part of a bonus from my work. I am asking for any ideas of places to stay, places to see and things to do. Keeping in mind I am single, and will not be interested in huge treks.

I’m a New Zealander and having lived in Queenstown for a number of years would definitely recommend going there. It’s perfect for young, single people. It attracts a mixture of nationalities from around the world, is cosmopolitan, friendly and very laid back.
It’s also a nature lover’s dream with loads of great bush walks (including lots of easy and incredibly scenic day walks in the area), awesome mountain biking, rock climbing etc.
On the culture front it has a great range of restaurants and cafes, local vineyards, even a boutique cinema!
It is a holiday resort however so the living costs, sightseeing, dining out etc are definitely more expensive than the major cities.
January would be a great time of year to visit, the weather is great, and the atmosphere is buzzing from the holiday season.
Happy to provide a list of ideas for lots of cheap/free activities to do!

take a 18-33 bus tour, http://flyingkiwi.com or http://magicbus.co.nz or http://contiki.co.nz
The first two you can hop off and rejoin if you want to spend more time in a certain area. Wine trails in Hawkes Bay, Marlborough and Nelson
