How Old Should You Be To Start Dating?
I ask this because even when I was 16, my mom had told me I was too young to date and she didn’t want me to have a boyfriend, but she loosened up when I turned 17 and let me date,I am now 18. How old do you think you should you be to start dating?

As you may already know, kids are always going to date with or without parental consent. Even the kids in elementary are doing it! When I was in 5th grade, kids were going to the movies together and the whole year was about dating!
Mother said no until I was 16, and I didn’t even want to date. I would like to get my education fist and graduate college before I even start to think about guys. There are other chicks in this world, and I’m not anyone “soul mate” right now.
So to answer your question, I would say kids should be of 16 years of age. Their hormones are raging, and they are going to rebel no matter what their parents say.

You are obviously old enough to date… as you are now a legal adult. My religion recommends allow group activities and group dates at 14, and single male/female dates at 16, with the person being properly vetted and with curfew’s, etc. That worked very well for my three daughters, and we had no problems.
I recommend against a “serious” boy friend prior to 21 for two reasons. If you are shopping for a life mate, then you should shop… not settle for the first nice suit of clothes you try on and two, studies show that those that marry in their late 20’s have better, happier, longer marriages, especially if they have both dated others.
