18 and already receive the admission to the university. I am 34 year old mom and has a 1 year old baby girl with two masters degrees and a great profession. I am really happy that I didn’t star dating until 19-20. Boys takes too much time on girl/woman’s self development. She will appreiciate you later ( probably not now) if you watching over her a little bit longer.

My daughter is only 8 but this is the way I plan to work it:
    Group dates 14 or 15
    Alone dates 16 or 17
Naturally I would have to know and approve of the boy who wishes to take her out and my husband will more than likely be cleaning his gun when he comes to get her!! LOL
All of the above is based on grades, if she had good grades then she has more freedom, bad grades and she will think she lives in a prison!!
It will also depend on who she is and what type of teen she is. If she is mature and responsible I will be more likely to let her have some freedom, if she is a total butt head she can kiss freedom goodbye.

Sixteen is a tricky age and it depends on who the boy is. Set some rules and stick to them -where are they going -who is driving -house party should have adults present, not a teenage sister or brother -deadline to be home should be no later than 11 be firm on the time. Movie date -check the rating. At 16 it all depends on how mature and responsible they are be it boy or girl. If they are double dating or group dating make sure you check out who they all are and if there is someone older with a liscense. Sometimes cars and teens are not a good mix. By todays standards it is much more difficult than when my 2 girls started dating -it was nerve wracking but we made it! Just set rules and stick to them.

Ha, my 7 y/old son has a g/f, but I don’t think that counts. Oh, and last week, I caught my daughter age 6, making invitations for her wedding which wold take place at recess…….
I guess when she has her first b/f she’ll be ready to have a b/f. That will be the test for her to see if she’s responsible enough to go on a date. I would say, 14. But, with that milestone in life comes a hell of a lot more responsibilities, rules and regulations. For all my kids when they reach that pivotal age.

You are being over protective. She needs to learn the basics of dating in high school before entering the real world. I’d say as soon as my daughter’s in high school I’ll let her have a boyfriend.
At least if you allow her then she not going to date someone behind your back. I say meet her boyfriend, make sure he’s a good kid and then give them your approval.

when she moves out! just kidding, probably 13-14 for like the bowling, rollerskating, school sport event etc. MOVIES -16 cuz I know what I was doing at 12 at the movie theater so , of course thats coming from a dad. her mom will probably have her secretly on birth control at 14.

  7. Celeys mommy Says:

i understand you, shes your lil girl, but i think 16 is kay, cuz shes 16,
so either way, if you dont approve, shes going to do it, teens are really sneaky, so its best if shes up front about it, and you can meet the guys and know where their going

  8. learning Says:

I guess it depends on her maturity level and whether she’s proven trustworthiness? I didn’t start dating until I was 18/19, but I think 16 is old enough. Younger than that is kind of silly in my opinion.

You are being over protective. My personal opinion is whenever my child is ready, not me.
